Ty smith
Co-Founder and President of Smith Brain Connections
Ty is a practicing Industrial Organizational Psychologist at JP Morgan Chase with a focus on talent assessment for pre-hire and promotional needs. He has a Master's in Industrial Organizational Psychology from University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor's from Wittenberg University.
Ty first developed his interest in the function of the brain in his time at Wittenberg where he had the chance to volunteer with developmentally challenged adults and work as a lab assistant in the Psychology department. He became more interested in the brain and how it affects the rest of the body as he watched Spencer’s recovery. Ty helped Spencer reacclimate to the world and participated in Spencer’s therapies during both inpatient and outpatient rehab.
Ty’s background in Psychology helped him on the football field as a kicker. He is in Wittenberg University's record book for number of successful consecutive extra points and percentage of extra points made.
Ty married his favorite person in the world, Becca, in 2020. They welcomed their first daughter into the world in March of 2022. When Ty isn't developing assessment or education about the brain and trauma, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing with their dog and two cats.
